I cannot believe my luck, can you? I mean I am one of the smartest men in astrophysics, weapons, warfare, and astrology, yet it’s too dangerous to be as smart as. Yes me, Colonel Jonathan a.k.a. Jack O’Neill.

I am one of the most dangerous people in this world and a few others, too. I was really built for combat. Yep, I was built, by a project called The Manticore, Genomex Alliance

The Alliance’s one goal was to build the ultimate army of super soldiers. I just happen to be one of the many that got away. We all escaped from there on Feb. 24, 1975. I was only nine at that time, but I could move faster than a cheetah and could lift a car with only one hand. I was mature in my discipline, but I’d never really been allowed to be a child, so I had some difficulty adjusting at first. After awhile I began to fit in. I still had anger management problems, so my adopted dad, Wade suggested I try out hockey to work off my anger. I loved it. As you all know now. It helped me quell my anger and make friends. I even met back up with a few of my “ siblings”, fellow escapees. We keep in touch. I’m pretty sure we all went military. What better way to utilise our knowledge than to join the military? Anyway, we’re all over the place. From the Marine Corps to the Coast Guard.

We all tried to leave The Alliance or Genocore, as they are so fondly called, behind us. Now, I’m finally learning that Manticore will never truly be behind me, except when they’re trying to catch me.

I’m one of the most versatile trangenics of the Alliance escapees. I’m part cat, from which I have peak hearing, vision, speed, and flexibility, part chettah, from which I got grace and tact, part snake, from which I got my stealthiness and deadliness, and of course part human, from which I got fallibility, my emotions, and my humanity.

`The Alliance wants me, because not only am I part human, but a male witch as well. My powers come from up the Hollister bloodline. The dumbasses have been sending people after me for years, trying to get my powers and abilities back. They’re trying to make a new generation of us. The Chilidren of Genomex and Manticore, the Genocore Soldiers. These soldiers will be a mix of part human looking mutants and a new type of genetically enhanced soldier. They aren’t like us, they’re young and will do whatever it takes to follow orders, even if it means dying. They haven’t learned about unlawful orders yet. When they do,they’ll either make it right, or die trying to.

I was running out on the track behind my home in Colorado Springs, Colorado when I sensed someone following me to my left and right. I didn’t speed up, I didn’t even acknowledge their presence until they got too close for comfort. They ran at me simultaneously. I did a high back flip and landed behind them. They ran right into each other, but got up again. One does a sloppy roundhose in my direction and it simply bounces off my arm, throwing off his balance, making him fall down. I’m not worried about him, I’m busy with the guy in front of me. He’s a deal better than the other guy was. He puts up a good fight. I don’t fight too hard. At Genocore, I learned let your opponent put up a good fight and tire themselves out, then you break out and show them what you’re working with.

The guy is getting fatigued, while I have yet to break a sweat. I didn’t want to kill him so I just serve him a center punch to the solar plexis and an upper cut to the chin. He’s out like a light.

‘ Now for the other guy.’ I’m still facing the other side when the hairs on the back of my neck go up. Not sure what do, I run straight home at break neck speed. Once I’m there I lock all doors and windows, making sure I don’t have any uninvited guest tonight.

I settle down in front of the television and turn on some hockey game I already saw. I lay back with something other than beer for a change. In my hand I’m holding a flute of 1964 Merlot Wine. Eventually I get tired of the game and turn on my cd player, putting on Puccini and singing calmly along. Though I was relaxed my guard was still up.

There was a knock at my door. I silently put down my flute and walked over to the door. I looked out keyhole. I couldn’t really make out the figure. I had a feeling it was an ally, who wouldn’t be one for long if I didn’t open the door. I opened it expertly. I smiled at the young woman before me.

“ Max,” I smiled. “ Come on in.” I opened the door wider. She came in. Once I had closed the door she launched herself at me in a hug. I spun her around. She squealed. I carried her over to the couch and sat her down. “So, Maxie ,what do I this oh so surprising visit to?”

“ Well,” she started, giggling. “ How do you feel about giving me away?”

“ Well, I don’t know about giving you away, I’d sell you, but give you. I don’t think I could do that.”

“ Jack,” she laughed, glowing. “ I’m getting married,”she happily giggled. Jack grinned, before sweeping her up in another hug. I sat her on my lap.

“ Logan finally asked?”

“ Yes!” She got off my lap and started dancing around the room in circles, singing “ You Had Me From Hello”. She stopped as it hit her. “ I’m going to be the next and last, Mrs. Logan Cale. Cool. Max Cale. Max Cale-Guavera. Max Guavera-Cale. Maxine Cale. Ooh, I like that one. Maxine Guavera-Cale Maxine Cale-Guavera.” She winced at the last two. “ Which one do you like,” she asked anxiuosly.

“ I personaly think Maxine Cale has a nice ring to it.”

“Me too,” she smiled softly.

She sat back down next to me and lay her head against my shoulder. She sat back up, abruptly , with her mouth agape.

“ What if he wants babies, Jack. I don’t know if I can give him babies,” she cried to me.

“ We’ll have to find out then.”

“ How?”

“Lay down on the couch, I’ll check it out. Lay on your back.” She quirked her eyebrows at him. He chuckled. “ Remember when I said, I had powers that were naturally mine and not given to me by Manticore or Genomex?”

“ Yeah,” she said, unsure.

“ There was a woman,a witch, who thought she could get her baby out using her powers. They used a mental depressant to keep her from using them. That woman was my mother. She died, but before she died she imprinted a memory in me. A memory of her, of what I am, of what she was and the will to fight the evil that would briefly corrupt me. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’m a witch, a male witch, but a witch nontheless.” She looked amazed, then understanding.

“ Okay, cool, I guess.”

“ It is cool, most of the time.”

“ What does that have to do with me, though,” she asked, confused.

“ Well, one of my powers, is the power to sense and heal wounds and defects in a person. I ‘m going to, I guess you could say scan you for anything missing or out of order. Can yo handle that?” She nodded and laid down. “ Don’t move Maxie. Or I may miss something.” She kept still.

My hands ran about two inches above her body. She gasped silently. I closed my eyes. Everything, plus a few other things were present. If she decided to have kids, she could have as many as she wanted. My eyes opened, she was trembling nervously.

“So,” she asked.

“If you want to, you can have ten kids. Or more.” She jumped up and did some things relative to a tribal dance.

“Oh’ baby, baby. How was I supposed to know, that I could have a baby. Show me how to hold one, and I need to know now. What because.” I’m looking at her strangely. “What, so I know a little Britney Spears.’ I raise my eyebrows in true Teal’c fashion. “Oh, you have something to say. Get over here!” Before I could protest she had me dancing to “You Drive Me (crazy)” in the middle of the living room.

It was about 2300/ 11:00 before we stopped dancing. We fell down on the couch. Neither of us required sleep, but that didn’t mean we didn’t like it now and then.

“I should get going back to Logan’s,” said Max.

” Okay, I have to get some rest to be ready for the mission we got briefed on this morning, for tomorrow. See you girl. Hey what are you doing tomorrow, anyway?”

“Oh nothing, just chilling. Gonna go over to Jampony to make sure I still gotta j-o-b. Why?”

“First, you know he’s not gonna fire you, he needs you too much. And two, I was wondering if you wanted to see my j-o-b.” She just sat there staring at him.

“You serious?”

“Of course, I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t mean it.”

“You mean you’re gonna show me what you do in Cheyenne Mt., finally?”

“If you wanna know.”

“What do you do in there anyway?”

“Deep Space Radar Telemetry,” I answered automatically.

“Don’t give me that look, that’s what I’m supposed to say.”

“I know we’re smart and all, but what the hell do you do again, and the truth this time.” I huffed.

“Don’t huff,” she chastised me.

“I am in command of SG-1,” I confessed.

“SG-1 is a team, I presume?”

“Yeah, we’re the premier team. We started it all, from Abydos to Edora.”

“How many teams are there?”

“There’s SG-1 through SG-16. We’ve been here for about four years.”

“Four years, no wonder you guys are close. So who’s on your team?”

“Okay. There’s Dr. Daniel Jackson, Major Samantha Carter, and Teal’c.”

“Let me guess. Teal’c is alien, isn’t he?” I didn’t answer. “I was right. Where’s he from?”

“Chulak.”

“That’s not in this solar system is it?”

“Not in this galaxy,” I corrected her.

“How the hell did he end up here and on your team no less?”

“He came back with us through the Stargate, when we got captured there.”

“The Stargate?”

“A big ring made out of naquaddah, that when paired with a DHD or an SGC computer and given a certain sequence of symbols can take you just about any planet in any number of galaxies.”

“That’s what you do with your days? Damn, I thought my life was interesting. So you are seriously asking me if I want to see this Stargate?”

“Yeah, but if you don’t want to, I’ll understand. It scares a lot of people. Even me sometimes.”

“Scared? Me? I don’t think so. Tell me where to go and I’m there. Normal will have to do without me for tomorrow, he’ll manage.” I couldn’t help, but chuckle at her cool excitement.

“All right, go to Cheyenne Mt. don’t try to break in, or they’ll shoot you, just go to the front security checkpoint and show them this.”He handed he a badge with a security code on it and a space for her name at the bottom. “Just sign your name here. I suggest you use Cale, because more likely than not the next time you come you’ll be married.
